| Techni-Care®
Pre-Operative Skin Prep Procedure
Techni-Care® is a "Highly Viscous, Gel-like Product" which can be
controlled upon application. You will use approximately 1/5 the amount of Techni-Care®
versus all solutions with viscosities equal to water, such as Povidone Iodine or
Chlorhexidene Gluconate solutions.
DO NOT DILUTE WITH WATER
FOR SKIN PREP PROCEDURES
- Dispense and apply Techni-Care® Surgical Scrub/prep directly from the
dispenser bottle. It has a flip top dispense lid for ease of use. Reseal Container.
- Utilize swab stick or sterile 4X4 to spread thoroughly. A thin coating will suffice.
Techni-Care will penetrate the dermis. In cases of heavy organic load, pre-bathing may be
necessary prior to surgical prep.
- Swab site for 2 minutes.
- Air dry or blot excess with a sterile towel.
Techni-Care® has demonstrated sustantivity on an occluded site for 24 hours
in outside laboratory studies. Techni-Care® will provide sustantivity in a
sterile surgical environment on a non-occluded site for 6-8 hours, dependant on the
contamination level of the environment.
